How Far Should a Classroom Projector Be from the Screen?

Projection distance is determined by horizontal image width and projector throw ratio. Projectors with the same brightness may use different optical configurations, so always check the exact model before planning the mount position.

Brightness and Throw Ratio Solve Different Problems

Lumens determine available light output. Throw ratio determines where the projector must be installed. A 7500-lumen projector is therefore not automatically better than a 4800- or 6000-lumen projector if its optical geometry does not fit the classroom.
